Our Story

How we got here

How it started

A borrowed umbrella in Fitzroy

They first met outside a cramped bookshop on Brunswick Street, October 2019. Theo offered to share his umbrella during a downpour. They ended up at a corner bar talking until it closed. Neither remembered the rain had stopped hours earlier.

The turning point

Three weeks on the Amalfi Coast

Summer 2022. A rented Fiat, too many limoncello spritzes, and a promise made on a cliffside in Ravello. They drove back to Naples knowing something had shifted. The ring was already being designed.

The question

A quiet morning at home

No elaborate proposal. March 2025, a Sunday. Theo made coffee, sat across from Isla at their kitchen table, and asked. She said yes before he finished the sentence. The ring was his grandmother's — reset in Melbourne by a jeweller on Little Collins Street.
